i see you when skies are gray in the deep dark woods where the children play i see you in the leaves of trees where the grass grows long in the ocean breeze i see you in the sunshine rays on a sparkling lake in a place far away i see you when it’s five ‘o clock the sky is gold the birds all flock i see you where the fireflies dance towards the edge of the woods i take a second glance i see you where the branches hang low on a day in June where the wildflowers grow i see you when i close my eyes when i’m half asleep when the full moon shines i see you when I first wake up the sun streams in i pour my cup i see you when i’m unaware and i know you’re not gone you’re everywhere- where are you?

i see you when skies are gray
in the deep dark woods
where the children play

i see you in the leaves of trees
where the grass grows long
in the ocean breeze

i see you in the sunshine rays
on a sparkling lake
in a place far away

i see you when it’s five ‘o clock
the sky is gold
the birds all flock

i see you where the fireflies dance
towards the edge of the woods
i take a second glance

i see you where the branches hang low
on a day in June
where the wildflowers grow

i see you when i close my eyes
when i’m half asleep
when the full moon shines

i see you when I first wake up
the sun streams in
i pour my cup

i see you when i’m unaware
and i know you’re not gone
you’re everywhere

- where are you?

the daylilies are here

they remind me of riding my bike

that summer we fell in love

eleven years later I wonder:

is it possible to preserve a feeling?

so i take sharp scissors and cut their stems
