Brain Lateralization

In Right Brain Work we looked at some of the mysteries and questions that emerge when we think about the human brain in this way. One of the more interesting comments made by Dr. Roger W. Sperry during his research related to persons who had undergone surgery isolating the hemispheres due to conditions such as seizures where Dr. Sperry noted that the separation of the hemispheres resulted in two consciousnesses. This intriguing comment raises questions about the nature of consciousness and how humans perceive - which is really cool stuff. The left hemisphere of the brain seems to favor:

Language skills
Skilled movement
Analytical time sequence processing
Positive emotions
Higher levels of dopamine
More grey matter (brain)
